2I am passionate about empowering, elevating and educating people about what is possible when you are tapped into your greatest potential and learn how to best nuture yourself! As an endurance ultra runner and competitive athlete in multiple sports, my expertise lies in giving sport specific massages that will help accelerate the healing process for sore muscles, recover from injuries faster and design maintenace programs to compliment your training. I am skilled in myofascial trigger point therapy, deep tissue, joint range of motion, muscle palpation, and swedish massage.

From being an avid golfer, practicing yoga daily, playing volleyball and basketball at wash park and riding my bike up Lookout mountain; I understand how to stay in the game when you demand so much from your body everyday!  This spring, I will be running the Grand Canyon from rim to rim to rim (50 miles) and will be competing in the 110 mile Gortex Transrockies race for the third year in a row.

Mastering the art of listening to your body's needs is a major focus of mine as we work together to create a practical game plan on  how to utilize key tools, such as self massage techniques, proper body mechanics, and breathing to maximize strength and flexibility.

I love being part of the team at Cherry Creek Spine and Sport clinic because you will have all the necessary support in nuturing yourself and maximizing whats possible for optimal health.  Reaching higher levels of performance, being connected to a greater peace and harmony, rejuvenated energy....the rewards and possibilities are limitless!

    Benefits of Massage:

The benefits and effects of therapeutic massage have been experienced for centuries in the East. We have caught on a bit more slowly here in the Western hemisphere, but today even the most conservative doctors sometimes recommend or prescribe massage. Studies have shown that massage can:
    • Stretche and broaden muscle fibers Increase flexibility Increase muscle function
    • Relax muscle tension Increase postural awareness
    • Decrease heart rate and blood pressure Decrease edema (swelling)
    • Help remove toxins Break up scar tissue Loosen adhesions ("knots")
    • Help alleviate menstrual problems/menopausal symptoms Increase expansion of lungs for full breathing Aid in digestion
    • Ease pregnancy problems such as nausea, high blood pressure, heartburn, tiredness and back pain.

The results you will obtain depend upon your exact situation. We will discuss treatment goals and options with you during your first visit.

New to Massage? What to expect during your visit:

    • Appointments are required in advance. Please phone or email us to make an appointment.
    • For your safety and health a brief health history form is required (this form will remain strictly confidential). Please use the link below to download the form. Complete it and bring it to your first appointment to ensure your entire appointment is spent on your massage, rather than paperwork.
    • You will be modestly covered by a sheet or towel at all times. You may undress to your comfort level or remain clothed. The massage can be modified to work through the sheets or clothing.
    • For your privacy, before and after the massage, the therapist will excuse himself so that you may get on/off the table in private.
  • Active Release Technique

Active Release Technique has been developed, refined, and patented by P. Michael Leahy, DC, CCSP. Dr. Leahy noticed that his patients' symptoms seemed to be related to changes in their soft tissue that could be felt by hand. By observing how muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves responded to different types of work, Dr. Leahy was able to consistently resolve over 90% of his patients' problems. He now teaches and certifies health care providers all over the world to use ART. See the Active Release Technique page for more details.
